Vicious Robbery in Lohagara: Beggar Disguised Thieves Attack Woman

A shocking incident of brutal robbery has occurred in Lohagara, Chattogram, where a woman was violently attacked, allegedly by thieves disguised as a beggar, who then stole her gold chain.

The incident took place around 11:30 AM on Thursday (October 30) at the house of Tofsir Uddin in Sardanipara, Adhunaar Union, within the Upazila.

The Victim’s Ordeal

The victim, Roksana Akhter, recounted the terrifying details of the attack.

“A woman wearing a burqa came to my gate asking for alms,” she explained. “When I went outside with a plate of rice to give her, she suddenly pushed me down.”

Immediately following the push, a second masked person, a man also wearing a burqa, rushed into the house.

He grabbed my throat and hit me in the stomach with a broken piece of mirror, then ripped the gold chain from my neck,” she said.

The thieves didn’t stop there, ransacking the closet and scattering clothes before fleeing. As they left, they threatened her life and locked the front gate from the outside to ensure they could escape.

Locals, hearing her screams after the robbers had gone, rushed to the scene and took her to the hospital for treatment.

Police Response

The Officer-in-Charge of Lohagara Police Station, Md. Arifur Rahman, confirmed the event.

“Upon receiving the news, the police immediately visited the site,” he stated. “We are currently investigating the matter and will take necessary legal action.”
