Military Operation in Kurram: Captain and Six Soldiers Martyred in Fierce Gun Battle
Six Pakistani soldiers, including a Captain, were killed in a military operation conducted in the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. In a swift and effective counter-attack by the security forces, seven terrorists were also eliminated.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani Armed Forces, issued a statement with these details on Wednesday (October 28).
Operation Details and Casualties
The statement confirmed that the operation was launched after the presence of members of ‘Fitna Al Khawarej,’ an affiliate of the proscribed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), was detected.
The ISPR explicitly stated that seven “India-supported Khawarej” (terrorist group members) were “sent to hell” due to the skillful response of the Pakistani troops.
The six soldiers martyred in the exchange of fire were:
• Captain Noman Saleem (24, a young medical officer from Mianwali)
• Havildar Amjad Ali (39)
• Naik Wagas Ahmad (36)
• Sepoy Aijaz Ali (23)
• Sepoy Muhammad Walid (23)
• Sepoy Muhammad Shahbaz (32)
Ongoing Search and Commitment
The statement added that operations are currently underway to eliminate any other “India-supported Kharijis” hiding in the area.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies are committed to continuing the mission to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism at full speed under the ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ (Resolve for Stability) vision.
It is worth noting that Pakistan, particularly the regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, has seen a sharp increase in terrorist attacks since the TTP violated a ceasefire agreement with the government in 2022.
