Geopolitical Tensions Escalate: Pakistan Accuses India of Using Afghanistan to Fuel Terror

Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has accused India of using Afghanistan as a tool to spread terrorism. He issued a stark warning to Kabul, threatening a “50 times stronger” retaliation if Afghanistan launches an attack on Islamabad.

Asif leveled this severe criticism against the Afghan delegation on Tuesday (October 28) during Geo News’ prime-time show, ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath,’ as reported by NDTV.

The Pakistani minister also fiercely criticized the Taliban government in Afghanistan for backing out of a recent peace agreement. His comments come after the dramatic collapse of peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Istanbul.

Accusations of Indian Influence

Quoted by Dawn, Asif stated:

“I believe the discussions that took place over the last four days or last week have been broken. We had an agreement, but then they called Kabul and backed out of that decision.”

After Kabul previously dismissed similar allegations as “baseless, irrational, and unacceptable,” Pakistan’s Defense Minister escalated his accusations, claiming someone in Kabul was staging a “puppet show.”

“I commend their delegation,” he said, “but those who are pulling the strings in Kabul and staging the puppet show are controlled by Delhi.”

Asif asserted that India is using Kabul to compensate for its military defeats on its western border. He claimed that “elements of the military regime present there [in Kabul] have gone to India and visited their temples.”

“India wants to wage a low-intensity war with Pakistan. They are using Kabul to realize this,” the Minister claimed.

Asif concluded by delivering a sharp warning regarding any potential threat or attack from Afghanistan on Islamabad, promising an overwhelming response.
