Safety First: Dhaka Metro Rail Briefly Halted After New Vibrations Near Farmgate Accident Site
The Dhaka Metro Rail experienced a brief suspension in a section of its service late Wednesday night following reports of some vibrations near the Farmgate spot where a fatal bearing pad accident recently occurred.
Service Disruption and Restoration
• The Glitch: On Wednesday night, service was temporarily halted on the Agargaon to Shahbagh section, starting at around 9:15 PM, after the minor vibrations were detected.
• Partial Operation: Critically, the rest of the network remained operational: trains continued to run between Motijheel and Shahbagh and between Uttara and Agargaon.
• Quick Fix: The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) maintenance crews worked through the night to carry out necessary repairs and checks.
• Current Status: As of Thursday morning, normal Metro Rail service has fully resumed across the entire route.
