No Power Can Stop It”: Interim Government Vows to Hold Election Before February 15
The Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, today reiterated the interim government’s firm commitment to the upcoming general election timeline, stating unequivocally that the vote will take place before February 15, 2026.
Shafiqul Alam made these assertive comments while speaking to journalists after the award ceremony for the ‘Mind Bridge and Knowledge Competition,’ organized by the July Konna Foundation at the central auditorium of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) this Friday afternoon.
On political disagreements, Shafiqul Alam remarked: “It is the rule that where there are political parties, there will be disagreements; each party will say different things, and this happens all over the world. But no heat or opposition will be able to stop the election. The election will be held before February 15 because the interim government is committed. There is no power that can stop it.”
Highlighting Government Achievements and Future Actions
The Press Secretary also highlighted several major tasks completed by the interim government since taking office and called for public patience.
He stated: “The interim government has already accomplished many major tasks. Everyone must be patient. The Chief Advisor will do everything for the welfare of the people, in the interest of democracy, and for the benefit of all parties. The government has already declared the ‘July Charter,’ which has been signed. Furthermore, several commissions have submitted their reports, the economy has been restored, and the trial work is moving forward.”

Shafiqul Alam also provided an update on a high-profile legal matter:
“On the 13th [November], the court will likely announce the date for Sheikh Hasina’s trial. Work is being done on all other pending issues as well.”
