BNP Leader Anni Warns Against Election Conspiracies and Vows Party Discipline

Shaheed Uddin Chowdhury Anni, Joint Secretary General of the BNP, asserted that conspiracies regarding the election are still ongoing and urged everyone to remain alert and vigilant, declaring that no conspiracy will succeed.

He made these remarks today (Friday) while speaking as the chief guest at a Qirat and Azan competition organized by the voluntary organization As-Suffa Youth Foundation at Chandkhali Dakhil Madrasa field in Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila.

High Expectations and Failed Governance

Anni acknowledged the massive public expectations placed upon the BNP following the events of August 5th:

Shaheed Uddin Chowdhury Anni stated: “After August 5th, the expectations of the people of the country from the BNP are high, and consequently, their demands have also increased. The people’s expectation was that there needed to be a qualitative change in politicians. But that has not happened.”

He attributed the downfall of the previous administration to a long history of misrule:

“For the last 17 years, the people of the country could not cast their votes; no proper election was held. The authoritarian Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee the country due to irregularities, plunder, corruption, enforced disappearances, killings, and torture. She did not leave willingly. They became enemies of the masses, enemies of the people, which is why they were forced to step down and flee.”

trict Warning on Party Misconduct

Anni issued a strong warning to party members regarding conduct and discipline:

Anni warned his party activists: “Everyone be alert. Be vigilant. If anyone tries to harm someone by using their party position or name in any way, Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has strict instructions regarding this. If any such information is received, organizational action will be taken against them. They will have no place in the party. Therefore, everyone must stand by the common people and understand their sorrows and suffering.”

Importance of Islamic Values

He emphasized that the party’s actions must be guided by the humanitarian principles of Islam:

The BNP Joint Secretary General said: “Islam teaches us to work for humanity, to work for welfare. To establish justice and maintain peace. These tasks are very important from the perspective of Islam. Yet, the scholars and Ulema of this country have faced much persecution, attacks, and lawsuits while trying to perform these duties. Society has moved far backward, into much darkness. That must be brought back.”

The event also featured speeches from other prominent local leaders, including Joint Convener of District BNP Advocate Hasibur Rahman, Vice Principal Maulana Ismail Hossain, and Muzzammel Hossain Mahabbat, Panel Chairman of the Union Parishad.
