NCP Prepares to Field Candidates in All 300 Seats, Focuses on Organizational Strength
Sarjis Alam, Chief Organizer (Northern Region) of the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP), announced that the party is currently preparing to field its own candidates in all 300 constituencies in the upcoming election. To achieve this goal, the party is actively working to strengthen its organizational structure.
He made the statement at a press conference following interviews with the conveners and member secretaries of the four districts in the Mymensingh Division on Monday evening at a hotel in Mymensingh city.
Sarjis Alam stated: “If we can strengthen our organization, if there is a convener committee in every ward by December, then we will be able to field strong candidates in 300 constituencies.”
Organizational Strategy and Timeline
• Northern Region Committee: The NCP is aiming to form the convener committee for the Northern Region by November 15th.
• Ward-Level Committees: The party plans to have NCP convener committees in every ward across Bangladesh by December.
• Objective: Alam emphasized that strengthening the organization is crucial for the upcoming election, building the party’s foundation, and engaging with the public. To this end, convener committees are being formed in every district and upazila nationwide.
Stance on Alliances and Rivals
Regarding alliances with other political parties, Alam said that a coalition could be formed if there is a consensus with any party that prioritizes “the future of Bangladesh and the interests of the people.”
Sarjis Alam also asserted that the Awami League and its allies, including the Jatiya Party, “have no right to participate” in the upcoming election.
Senior Joint Member Secretary Nahida Sarwar Niva, Divisional Organizing Secretary Ashikin Alam, and other central and Mymensingh Divisional leaders were present at the event.
