Ronaldo Rekindles GOAT Debate, Declares Himself Superior to Messi in Recent Interview
After winning the Qatar World Cup, Lionel Messi seemed to have reached unparalleled heights, effectively silencing the ‘Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT) debate. However, Cristiano Ronaldo has now brought that discussion back to the forefront. In a recent interview, Ronaldo claimed that he is better than Messi.
On Tuesday (November 4th), during an interview with English journalist Piers Morgan, Ronaldo asserted his superiority when comparing himself to Messi. When Morgan asked, “Many say Messi is better than you, what do you think?”, Ronaldo replied:
“Messi is better than me? I do not agree with that opinion. I don’t want to be humble right now.”
Reaction to Critics and Future Goals
The interview teaser also showed Ronaldo addressing comments made by former teammate Wayne Rooney, who once stated that Messi is the superior footballer. Ronaldo dismissed the matter, saying, “Such opinions do not bother me. I focus on my performance.”
Ronaldo also jokingly added, “Many say I recently became a billionaire, but the truth is, I became a billionaire many years ago.”
For over two decades, the two football superstars, Messi and Ronaldo, have created division and debate among their fans and analysts. However, following his FIFA World Cup victory in 2022, many believe Messi cemented his place as the best of the best.
