BNP Leader Ershad Ullah Shot During Election Campaign in Chattogram
BNP leader Ershad Ullah, who received the party’s nomination for the Chattogram-8 constituency, was shot while conducting a public campaign in the area.
The incident occurred around 5:15 PM on Wednesday in the Hamzar Bagh area of Panchlaish, Chattogram.
Condemnation and Demand for Arrest
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed strong condemnation and deep concern over the incident.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the BNP Secretary General demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the attack on Ershad Ullah’s campaign rally.

• Location and Time: Local BNP leaders reported that Ershad Ullah was campaigning in the Hamzar Bagh area, seeking public support for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ (BNP’s election symbol), when he was shot.

Jasem Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Bayezid Bostami Police Station, confirmed the shooting incident. He stated, “Police are at the scene. I am heading to the hospital.”
Background: Ershad Ullah has been involved in Chattogram BNP politics for a long time and currently holds the position of Convener of the Chattogram Metropolitan BNP.
