Barrister Partha Condemns Attack on BJP Workers by BNP in Bhola, Warns of Harm to ‘Nationalist Forces’
Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partha, Chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), has strongly protested the attack on BJP activists and the vandalism of their party office in Bhola, allegedly carried out by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) activists. Expressing his indignation, he warned that if such incidents continue, the respect for “nationalist forces” nationwide will be severely damaged.
He made these remarks in a post on his verified Facebook page on Saturday night (November 1st).
In his post, he wrote: “If this continues, the honor of nationalist forces across the country will be severely damaged, and it will impact the vote across the country. This is a very unfortunate matter. There is no alternative to unity.”
Details of the Conflict
Attaching pictures of his party’s injured activists, Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partha elaborated:
“A huge electoral procession of the BJP was held in Bhola Sadar, with thousands of people participating. Just before the noon prayer [Johr], when this peaceful procession ended, a small number of activists were present at the BJP office. At that moment, a group of 400 to 500 BNP members, driven by jealousy, beat up our innocent activists without any reason and vandalized the party office. This is unfortunate, disappointing, and I strongly condemn and protest it.”
The conflict between BNP and BJP activists took place earlier on Saturday (November 1st) afternoon in front of the Bhola District BJP party office in the town’s Notun Bazar area. The clash involved bricks and sticks, leaving nearly fifty people injured, including journalists, police, and activists from both parties.
