Election Commission Allots Symbols to Three Newly Registered Parties

The Election Commission (EC) has allocated electoral symbols to three political parties that recently received new registration, including the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP). The other two political parties are the Bangladesh Aam Jono Gon Party and the Bangladesh Socialist Party (Marxist).

The Commission issued separate circulars in this regard on Tuesday (November 4th).

Registration Process Details

The circulars stated that representatives of the parties had applied to the Commission for registration as political parties under Section 6A of the Representation of the People Order, 1972 (PO No. 155). The requested symbols were ‘Shapla Koli’ for NCP, ‘Kachi’ for Bangladesh Socialist Party (Marxist), and ‘Handshake’ for Aam Jono Gon Party.

The EC requested that if anyone has any objection regarding the registration of these parties, they are requested to inform the EC’s Senior Secretary, Akhtar Ahmed, in writing, citing reasons with necessary documents, within November 12th.
