Fire Breaks Out at Ekota Tower in Gazipur, 4 Fire Service Units Working to Control Blaze

A fire has broken out at Ekota Tower in Konabari, Gazipur metropolitan area. Four units of the Fire Service are currently working to bring the fire under control.

The fire reportedly started around 5:00 PM on Saturday (November 1st).

Details of the Incident

Local sources and the Fire Service reported that the fire originated at a fast-food shop inside Ekota Tower, located on Ambabag Road in Konabari. The Fire Service was immediately informed. Initially, two units from the Konabari Modern Fire Service responded, followed by two more units from the Gazipur Chowrasta Modern Fire Service, which have begun efforts to extinguish the blaze. As of the time of the report, the fire was still not under control.

Md. Ashrafuzzaman, Team Leader of the Konabari Modern Fire Service, stated: “We are working inside the market to control the fire. There is a lot of smoke inside. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are not immediately known.”

Salauddin, Officer-in-Charge of Konabari Metro Police Station, said: “The fire originated in a restaurant. The Fire Service and police personnel are working to control the situation. The cause and the amount of damage are yet to be determined.”
