Former State Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon Barred from Leaving Bangladesh at Dhaka Airport
Anamul Haque Milon, a former State Minister for Education during the BNP-Jamaat coalition government, was stopped by immigration police at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today (Thursday) while attempting to fly to Thailand for medical treatment.
The incident occurred around 11:00 AM when Milon, who served as a prominent member of the cabinet, was scheduled to board a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Upon reaching the immigration counter, officials halted his overseas travel.
The Immigration Standoff
An immigration police official, who requested anonymity, told reporters that Milon was turned away due to a “restriction on his foreign travel.”
However, the former state minister himself claimed he was given no clear reason for the travel ban.
Milon told the media: “I asked them to show the documents proving a restriction on my travel abroad, but they did not show anything. I don’t understand why this was done.”
Milon further stated that he intends to hold a press conference at the National Press Club on Friday to address the issue publicly.

Anamul Haque Milon has a significant political history representing the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP):
