Obama Slams Trump, Warns Country is in a ‘Dark Place’
Former US President Barack Obama has sharply criticized the administration of the current US President, Donald Trump. He warned that the country is in a “dark place” because of Trump and described the administration as a symbol of “lawlessness and lack of judgment.” This was reported by Samaa TV.
Obama, one of the most influential leaders of the Democratic Party, joined election rallies for Virginia gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger and New Jersey candidate Mikie Sherrill on Saturday (November 1st) local time. He made the remarks while addressing an enthusiastic crowd at Old Dominion University in Norfolk.
Barack Obama said: “To be honest, our country and policies are currently in a dark place. This White House is daily demonstrating a new level of lawlessness, lack of judgment, ill-thought-out policy, and just sheer craziness.”
Criticism of Trump’s Policies
The former US President specifically criticized Trump’s policies, particularly his tariff policy and the strategy of deploying the National Guard in American cities. He labeled these actions as “disorganized” and “misguided.”
He blamed Congressional Republicans for failing to control Trump, even when they knew he was “going off the rails.”
Obama compared the White House to Halloween:
He said: “It’s like Halloween every day in there—but all trick and no treat.”
The former President also mocked Trump:
Obama stated ironically: “To be honest, he has focused on some important things—like making sure shoes don’t muddy the soil of the Rose Garden and building a $30 million ballroom.”
In his concluding remarks, Obama urged voters to “stand up for truth, stand up for empathy, and stand up for democracy.”
He concluded: “Democracy does not disappear overnight—it is slowly chipped away when people stop paying attention. It is the responsibility of all of us to resist and protect what is right.”
